WIC Week – March 7-13, 2010
Proclamation requests have been sent to Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera, Mayor Dan Baader of Cripple Creek, City Council of Fountain, Mayor Bryan Glenn of Monument, Mayor John Cressman of Palmer Lake, City Manager of Pueblo, Mayor Buck Hayes of Victor and Mayor Steve Randolph of Woodland Park.
The March meeting was a celebration of WIC Week! The meeting was held at the Mason Jar Restaurant on Corporate Drive. Our mayoral proclamations from the State of Colorado, The City of Colorado Springs and the City of Pueblo were on display for all to enjoy.
Jessie Maycock with Home Depot gave a demonstration on a new product used for do-it-yourselfers. This product was designed to hold tile in place on a vertical surface. It was a peel and stick type of application to insure that lines are straight and grouting tile is mush easier. Jessie also showed us some new product offerings such as a “Tile Bucket” holding everything a beginner needs to do a small tile project.
WIC Week was finished off by completing the projects for KPC Kids Place. The ramp was installed, the flooring repaired and the 12 unit “cubbies” cabinet turned out perfect. A special thanks to Katie Trapp and Sandy Riggs for making this happen for this worthwhile organization.
